I guess when one holds such a twisted belief, it is perhaps somewhat more understandable that upon hearing the mere recitation of fact that capitalism is an economic system as opposed to a moral system, they suddenly see flags being burned and spitting in the face of God (if you also believe as some on "their side" do that Adam Smith's "invisible hand" is God's hand).

What occurred on the show was nothing "despicable," merely ignorant--both in the dictionary definition of "lacking knowledge" and in the Pittsburgh definition of "being rude"--as displayed by Ms. Heidelbaugh.

As they say, "Reality has a well-known liberal bias." Lynn Cullen's intelligence and knowledge of facts will be sorely missed.Maria Lupinaccihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15982383329276367179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8213262.post-81703965028001909702015-04-22T20:51:48.574-04:002015-04-22T20:51:48.574-04:00I've had this argument before, when people aut...I've had this argument before, when people automatically assume that "moral" = "good." That isn't remotely the case, and economic sytems are not "moral" systems in the good vrs bad sense. You can behave with good morals or bad morals, but morals applies to individuals, not economics. They're economic systems, and morals do not enter into the calculation. Left to their own devices, capitalism, communism, feudalism, or socialism are "morally" neutral.
