Besides Santorum and Gingrich, Bachmann, Palin and Trump knew they had no chance, but otherwise risk fading into obscurity if they don't get out there and say some outrageous things (I am not sure how Herman Cain fits into anything). But their outrageous-ness seems to be pulling the party even further to the right than is usual for the primary season. That causes the possible serious candidates - Pawlenty, Rommney and Huntsman - to also say outrageous things just to stay in the public's eye. But they may go a Tea Party too far, and push away the more moderate independent they need to win the election.EdHeathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09109361235271107574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8213262.post-73408244035223646012011-06-09T22:26:04.249-04:002011-06-09T22:26:04.249-04:00Maybe I've said it before here, and if so, exc...Maybe I've said it before here, and if so, excuse me for repeating myself, but here is what I think of Ricky's Presidential aspirations; they are a complete and utter fraud.

Rick is running an ad campaign, not a political campaign. He is trying to maintain and strengthen his "brand," such as it is. Truth is, Gingrich is doing the same thing. Both of these guys know full well that they don't have a chance in hell of being elected -- but they need to stay "in the public eye," so that they will still be salable commodities.

Rick has no real skills. He can't really DO anything -- other than pontificate. Therefore, he will use this campaign (and other people's money) in an attempt to stay "relevant" and to stay on the lucrative lecture circuit. And maybe he'll write a book, because a publisher will realize he has a "platform."

At the end of the dark day, it is not about abortion or socialism or jihad; it is about money. Period. End of story.Piltdown Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06624809999110700764noreply@blogger.com
