"[The] President...is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
-- Rick Santorum
"My God," you say -- he must really be running to the center!
Not to worry.
Lil Ricky said this seven years ago about another war.
Hat tip to Delaware Dem from Daily KOS.
DD has some great quotes by other Republicans too.
Rick Santorum speaking out against President Bush on the Iraq war? That is scary.
ReplyDeleteI would say that Santorum is having a little trouble in Pennsylvania. He's been the president's lap dog on the Social Security privatization ever since Bush brought it up. Of course, with all the marketing and PR the White House has spent trying to convince the American public to support private accounts for Social Security, Bush is seeing the public moving against his ideas of private accounts. And I would imagine Santorum is also seeing his own popularity dropping in Pennsylvania. Of course, I'm not sure about that, since I live in California where we have our own Republican Governator Au-nold. His poll numbers are dropping since he's called for a special election to end-run some of his "reform" ideas around the legislature.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm watching a Keystone Kops movie.
