His opening:
Two of the most powerful moments of political déjà vu I have ever experienced took place recently in the context of the Bush administration's defense of presidentially ordered electronic spying on American citizens.Like his fellow liberals, Bob Barr must hate George Bush so much that he'll say anything to try to bring down his administration.
First, in the best tradition of former President Bill Clinton's classic, "it-all-depends-on-what-the-meaning-of-is-is" defense, President Bush responded to a question at a White House news conference about what now appears to be a clear violation of federal electronic monitoring laws by trying to argue that he had not ordered the National Security Agency to "monitor" phone and e-mail communications of American citizens without court order; he had merely ordered them to "detect" improper communications. [emphasis added]
Why is Bob Barr seeking to undermine our President and our resolve? Doesn't he know we're at war?
He must be some sort of terrorist sympathizer.
Impeach
You should be able to hotlink in the comments section with just regular html:
ReplyDelete< a href="put-the-url-here" > (but leave out the spaces before the 'a' and after the last quote mark)
then put either the url or something like 'click here'
then put < /a > but, again, leave out the spaces.
So, it would be:
< a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/29/national/29cookies.html ">http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/29/national/29cookies.html < /a > (but without the spaces)
Hope that helps.
Just to be clear, the ONLY space should be between 'a' and 'href'.
ReplyDeleteHey, where all of the wingnuts that assail you guys for being dumb pinkos?
ReplyDeletePersonally, I suspect that theyre twitchting as if they're caught in some sort of bad programming loop that can lock up one's computer. "Bob Barr tried to impeach Clinton. Therefore he is good. Bush is also good. But Bob Barr calls Bush bad. Therefore, Barr is...bad?!? Error. Error. Error..."
Well played!
