The California Supreme Court struck a historic but possibly short-lived blow for gay rights Thursday, overturning a state law that allowed only opposite-sex couples to marry.Additional Story:
In a 4-3 ruling that elicited passionate responses on both sides of the debate and touched off celebrations at San Francisco City Hall - the scene of nearly 4,000 same-sex weddings four years ago that were invalidated months later - the court said the right to marry in California extends equally to all, gay and straight alike.
Tears of joy as same-sex marriage advocates get the word
I will post these two examples of the "moving" definition of marriage
ReplyDeleteYour rebuttal will be just because marriage get redefined once does not mean it get redefined again using the argument that consenting adults who love each other should be allowed to marry.
The homogamy diktat
Now, what is tremendously amusing to me is the way that many who look favorably on homogamy appear to be reluctant to recognize how this creates the de facto legalization of polygyny. For if it is bigotry or an arbitrary denial of a basic human right to define marriage as "one man and one woman", the same reasoning that applies to changing the nouns must also apply to the numbers.
Couple in love persecuted [Darleen Click]
