The US Supreme Court: Friends of the Terrorists!

From the AP:
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the Constitution to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts.
But these are THE TERRORISTS! These are the EXACT SAME PEOPLE who attacked us on 9/11!

Doesn't the Supreme Court KNOW that "Constitutional Rights" are only for US Citizens? LAW-ABIDING US Citizens? We all know that these terrorists are neither.

There is one bright spot in all this:
In dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts criticized his colleagues for striking down what he called "the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants."
Good for him! Nice to see that the conservatives (read: the real Americans) on the Court know what's at stake here in our righteous war against Islamofascism.

So what if a majority on the court says these people have rights! We've already been very generous with the "procedural protections" they already enjoy. In fact, we should be THANKED for our hospitality in taking care of these folks! Keeping them out of harms way and such. We fed them, right? Kept them out of the rain and snow, right? Only someone cowering behind the mother's skirt of "The Constitution" would think that that's NOT enough. THESE ARE THE TERRORISTS!!

Luckily, since Senator McCain is looking to appoint MORE Justices like John Roberts we can all take comfort in knowing that a vote for McCain will be (indirectly) be a vote for the continued practices of interrogation and detention that have made us safer since 9/11.

PS if you're not getting the joke by now, you're reading the wrong blog.

  1. This decision startles me coming from this Court. Every deaf, dumb, and blind earthworm knows it is the correct decision, which makes it even more surprising coming from a SCOTUS that is even to the Right of the one that appointed President Bush to his pernicious, calamitous rule.

  4. John K. says: This decision does not bother me a bit. In a few months it is the left that is going to own Gitmo. And they will have to make the decision to close it down and send all those guys home. If they reemerge on the battlefield then we clearly know where that responsibility lies. My hope, keep Gitmo up and running. But if McCain or Obama want to be all benevolent, be my guest. They will have to bear the responsibility.

This is defintely a sad day for the United States of America.

John K.. I beg to disagree, only because I will not assume the left will assume control in November.

Of course, I thik McCain also wants to close Club Gitmo. Closing it is a far cry from allowing these Mooslim fanatics access to US Courts.

Immediate Solution? Take the prisoners there and send them back.. from 30,000 feet.

Practical Future Solution? Take no prisoners.

The ragheads want to kill us. What part of that do the leftists not undersrand?

I know I'm being outrageous, but I'm trying to make a point.

God help our Country if the leftists win.

    Finally, I'm serious about this...

Muslim terroists must be elimanated.. at all costs. Islamic accomodations (e.g., adoption of Sharia law, allowing encroachment on our freedoms and rights, etc.) MUST be fought stopped at all costs.

Call me a hater. So what. GTH. I want my teenage daughter to live in freedom, not worrying whether or not she will die because some raghead wants to meet his 72 virgins by blowing up her plane mall.

I was trying the OpenID option. I was not trying to be a Glenn Greenwaldian sockpuppet.

They will have to bear the responsibility.
Sorry John K. the Democrats will try to dodge responsibility like they did in the past and with the help of the Mainstream Media may succeed.
    Such as:
    * Janet Reno took responsibility for Waco and got a pass.
    * Econuts and Democrats block the exploration of oil, building refineries and Nuclear power plants in the US and when energy prices go up, blame the energy companies.
    * When proven wrong on the Duke Lacrosse rape hoax, claimed Nifong had screwed up the case and still claim that that the Duke 3 were guilty.
    * When a Freed Gitmo detainee carried out suicide bombing in Iraq, denied that they were duped and claimed his treatment at Gitmo was the cause.

Hey boys and girls! How many mistakes can you find in this small picture. Here, I'll get you started: All liberals do not think the same.

Now, you find the other 25 errors in fact and judgement and win a swell prize!

  9. Time to update the history books that progressive Saint Franklin D. Roosevelt was wrong for Ex parte Quirin
    ...
Ex parte Quirin, 317 U.S. 1 (1942), is a Supreme Court of the United States case that upheld the jurisdiction of a United States military tribunal over the trial of several Operation Pastorius German saboteurs in the United States. Quirin has been cited as a precedent for the trial by military commission of any unlawful combatant against the United States.

  10. Gee, Mein Heir, you're slipping. That one was in the same county as the actual issue. Are you not well?

Not that you actually made your point. In the first place, these were people operating (if you had read your own quote) in the United States. Unless I am mistaken, Afghanistan has not even applied for territorial status.

Second, the action occurred in the midst of a war. Congress has declared no war.

Finally, FDR also ordered American citizens be put into concentration camps. He was no saint where civil liberties were concerned.

Where do you get this crap, anyhow? Rush or Bill? Will you never learn? They lie to you and mislead you daily. Learn to think for yourself.

Another problem with depending on the Hate Entertainers is that when we expose your bullshit, they can't help you and you have to run away and hide...again and again. That must get embarrassing.

BTW, on a personal note, loved your other alias. Most of us don't announce our residence.
