The Latest From The Right Fringe

I found this little bit of satire by way of The Hill. The link leads back to this blog post from a State Senator from South Carolina, one Kevin Bryant.

The Huffington Post has more:
"It was meant tongue in cheek," he said, adding, "I've got some questions about Senator Obama's ties to -- such as his comment that we should negotiate with Iran. Iran's a country that would like to destroy Israel, that bothers me. But is this picture appropriate? I don't know." He let out a loud laugh. "It's gotten a lot more attention than I would have expected."

Does he think Obama is actually has terrorist ties? "I don't think he's tied to terrorists, no. I do think he's probably more sympathetic to nations that allow terrorism than I would prefer. And that's why I posted it. Am I saying that him and Osama work together? No, I'm not saying that at all."

And what religion does Bryant think Obama practices? "That's a good question. I don't know."

Bryant says he's supporting John McCain for president, and that he is trying to figure out how to remove the Osama-Obama image from his website. "I may put it back up, I may not," he said. "I just thought I'd take it down and think about it."

He added: "You know, blogs are for satire and whatnot and, um, that's why it's up. It's similar to the New Yorker picture. Maybe that's why this has gotten so much attention, because of that thing that came out a couple days ago."
And he doesn't know what religion Senator Obama practices? What rock has be been under for the last few months?

Ignorant, classless, and (dare I say it) ungrammatical. A typical Republican.

The Democrat running against this guy is Marshall Meadors. You can donate to him at http://www.meadorsforstatesenate.org/donate.html. I met him at a recent event and he was a really nice guy. We should really step up to support him and kick this bonehead out of the SC Senate. In this same district, Jane Dyer is running for US Congress as the Dem opponent of Gresham Barrett and needs your support as well. Her website is janedyerforcongress.com.

Good call, HannahKay.

I guess this clown is pretty upset that the Bush Administration is presently negotiating with the Iranians.

i got this yesterday in my e-mail from a mccain supporter.

it makes me sad to think that people i know think this sort of thing is funny and true.

John K: This makes you sad. Gee, then you should have been devastated over the fraud photos of Dr. Rice and Justice Thomas. I feel for you. NOT!

Is it just me, or is John K doing a pretty dead-on immitation of Dwight Schrute?

Drum roll, please.

Ladies and gentleman, we may have a historic first.

2PJ's most persistent troll has posted a comment that does not an include one of his signature LOLs or LMAOs.

Of course, the posting on which he is commenting has nothing to do with dead U.S. soldiers - for which he reserves the right to use many, many LOLs and LMAOs, as well as the trademark "I win" -- so one has to keep things in perspective.

But I'm glad I could be here to witness this history-making event. My life will never be the same.

I still say he is a moderator-operated parody.

KGC says (sings):

"You say po-ta-toe, I say po-tah-to.
You say O-sama, I say O-bama."

Hehehehehe. I love anything that gets the left's panties in a wad.

Of course, there "may" be some truth that Osama, a/k/a The Messiah, had or has Islamic teachings or leanings. Hmmmm.

you guys can't have it both ways. either he's a christian who has been indoctrinated into the rev. wright school of white-man hatred, or he's a radical muslim who's bent on turning america into a muslim nation... full of people who speak spanish.

er uh... okay.

i was amazed not to get a "lol" or an "i win" from our very own demented little giggler.

i am proud to be a part of this monumental day in history!

Talk about a career limiting move. The guy in one quick move probably not only killed his election chances but also seriously limited his job prospects if his election fails.

I know. Some will argue that this is a South Carolina state senator so he should be protected; however I doubt it. The little crappy smear he played has now become national news. The guy is going to have to deal with backlash of people that don't support the tactic and people that don't like having their district the center of a national election.

my prediction is this guy loses by 5% at least in his election.

KGC Says:

Hey, cathcatz.. who says both are mutually exclusive? Rev Wright's church preaches hatred against the United States in general and us honkeys in particular. The Islamic ragheads preach and practice hatred toward Western Civilization in general and the United States in particular and, by extension, us honkeys.

cathcatz said...

i'm no "honkey" kgb.

hunkie, maybe.

John K: Actually we can have it both ways. Obama was a member of Rev. Wright's racist church and that picture of him in a turbin is real. Obama wants it both ways and no criticism for it.

CB Phillips said...

yes, somebody who uses the term "raghead" has no hatred in their heart.

The more you see this type of Osama/Obama stuff, the more desperate you know the right is getting.

While the Democrats have serious issues in my view, the right has completely fallen apart. It has an alleged underlying principle of small government and personal responsibility, but in practice does little to promote either.

At this point, fear and hatred are the only thing the right has to run on, and there seem to be indications that, as a political tool, that approach has lost most of its luster, except with certain blog trolls and radio personalities, of course.

On a related note: In a recent survey of the American Jewish Community, Barack Obama was viewed favorably by 60 percent of the respondents...and the wingnuts' favorite DINO, Joe Lieberman was viewed favorably by only 37 percent. I eagerly await the sound of heads exploding all over the right-wing blogosphere.

i think i hear a few little balloon popping sounds right now!

keep saying osama/obama, because every time the right brings up the name "osama", we are all reminded of the fact that the man who is ultimately responsible for 9/11 is STILL out there, STILL recruiting, STILL plotting, and our pResident doesn't seem to be bothered by that.

i guess that's okay with the righties, since there hasn't been another attack on US soil. but its not okay with me that he's still not been brought to justice.

although... the way john k. pumps up mccain's heroism and manliness, i wouldn't be surprised if grampy himself crawls into a cave in pakistan this october and pulls ol' bin laden out by the dialysis machine yelling ala rambo,

"they drew first blood!!!"

John K: Uh it was Sen. Kennedy who called him Osama Obama. Yep. And the New Yorker is a liberal rag. And it was Hillary Clinton who brought up all the muslim questions on Obama. I use his real name Hussein Obama and you left wingers still get upset. LMAO LMAO Now we can't even call him by his real name. LOL

Sherry Pasquarello said...

and you seem to be too ashamed or afraid to use your real name.

John K: Hussein Obama is now saying the surge did not work. The guy is stuck on stupid.

Wrong AGAIN, John K. From CNN today:“I am pleased that as a consequence of great effort by our troops, but also as a consequence of a shift in allegiances among the Sunni tribal leaders as well as the decision of the Sadr militias to stand down, that we've seen a quelling of the violence,” he added.

When will you do your homework, John?

The problem is that the surge was supposed to give some time to the Iraqi government so that it can get its act together. Has that happened yet?

On the other hand, both Bush and McCain HAVE SAID that if the Iraqis ask us to leave, we would leave.

And they've asked us to leave.

Maria said...

"And it was Hillary Clinton who brought up all the muslim questions on Obama." And, you can back that up with...
Right, nothing.

So, I guess George W. Bush is secretly a communist Chinese sympathizer since he wore a ceremonial Chinese outfit at one of the G8 meetings???

And perhaps we should give some credit to the Iraqis, particularly the Sunni Awakening in Anbar that occurred a year before the surge...unfortunately, conservatives are "stuck on" annointing John McCain as the savior of the World - "Only John McCain can protect us."

Just look at how much fearmongering is behind the rhetoric they're using here - "Obama wore a turban!!! OMFG! Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"

Get out in the world, you loons, for the love of the God you exploit for political gain!

They're mad because their moron of a candidate goaded Obama into travelling to Iraq and it's been a wonderful success. They have no ideas to offer, so their in full-on attack mode, 24/7.

And NOW their blaming the media for their woes...so much for that personal accountability that Republicans are always talking about. They're looking for excuses to cover their hapless candidate.

Maybe the problem isn't the media...maybe, just maybe, it's your pathetic candidate, John K. Hmmm?

Let's be honest: we're dealing with people afraid of a name and a style of headwear...they're scared of some consonants and vowels and fabric! That's the depth of their criticism; that's the substance of their attacks.

Here's some advice: next time, don't nominate a loser.

John K: I can back that up with Hillary Clinton's campaign speeches and you know that. And that is the funny part. Deceive yourself, don't try that spin on me. You're in denial.
