This was the eleventh question on the questionaire:
Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?And this is Sarah Palin's response:
Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.Too bad the pledge was written in 1892 (and hence about a century too late for the founding fathers) and the phrase "under God" was added only 54 years ago in 1954.
I realize this is not much of a big deal - but imagine if Senator Obama had made the same mistake. Fox "News" and the rest of the right wing noise machine would be talking about it 24/7.
John K: You mean like Hussein Obama saying there were 57 states? Which of course was explained on the campaing trial as he being tired. LOL LOL As if Hussein Obama has done a day of work in his life.
ReplyDeleteJohn K: I am now waiting for Jaywillie or Sherry to tell me he never said that. LMAO Or Ed Heath to say provide proof. LMAO LMAO
ReplyDeleteJohn K: I can't resist. This is the first day of no liberal radio in this region. What makes it funnier, 1360 retained the Polka Hour. LOL LOL LOL They fired Culllen and kept Polka music. LMAO
ReplyDeleteWell, apparently that might have been supposed to be joke. Something maybe to do with traveling to Guam and Puerto Rico and American Samoa and maybe the US Virgin Islands and I don't know where else for the campaign. I thought he vacationed on the Virgin Islands or somewhere in the Caribbean. At best we can cay there is perhaps parity among mis-statements, between Palin and the pledge, Obama and the number of states, McCain and the difference between Sunni and Shite and Biden calling Obama clean and articulate. The difference between policy proposals is more stark.
ReplyDeleteOh that’s right, you don’t admit mistakes made by Republicans. You cackle with delight at the misfortune of those you disagree with.
JOhn K: No fear Ed, just count all those illegal immigrants and make up 7 more states for them to live in so Obama can be sure of enough electoral votes.
ReplyDeleteThe rumors are over: it's TRUE with a capital T!

More from that article: she's 5 months pregnant. So, does that mean she got knocked up when she had mono? I think I'm going to make some popcorn and enjoy the fireworks. Bristol, enjoy your SECOND pregnancy. I hope it goes better than the first.
ReplyDeleteEd,
ReplyDeleteYou are correct again. Obama was, in fact, referring to the number of Democratic primaires/caucuses that were held this year(about 57). It's pretty sad the wingers are still trying to make something out of that.
Dayvoe is right - if Obama had written this answer, the wingers would be freaking out - well, freaking out even more than they already are.
The Palin pick is blowing up in their faces. She satisfied the extreme rightwing of the Republican Party, but I'm hearing that even Republicans in Minnesota for the convention see this pick as a hasty decision, a gimmick, that stands a good choice of backfiring on McCain.
John K: Nope Hussein Obama said 57 States. Not 57 primaries. Get it right.
