Chris Chillizza posts this:
Although the fate of tonight's presidential debate in Mississippi remains very much up in the air, John McCain has apparently already won it -- if you believe an Internet ad an astute reader spotted next to this piece in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal this morning. It's an amazing thing, too. It was posted before he announced he would participate in the debate.
"McCain Wins Debate!" declares the ad which features a headshot of a smiling McCain with an American flag background.
Dewey Defeats Truman - The Sequel?
ReplyDeleteOnly thing better would be:
ReplyDeleteRalph Nader wins debate. (He was on HBO.)
And,
Bob Barr wins debate. He, unlike the last Lib running for president, didn't try to crash the debate only to end up headed to jail for some hours in St. Louis.
Oh well.
How about this: Americans see debate and we're all screwed.
Maybe the ad was for something else? Maybe it was a joke?
ReplyDeleteJohn K: McCain never looked so Presidential. Hussein Obama looked exactly like he looks and he came across as what he is. Too bad for you guys. LOL
ReplyDeleteI caught that as well. McCain mentioned earlier (as part of indicating how much experience he has) that he thought there were many defence programs that could have cuts made in them, that had waste in the administration if not the design of them. He talked about the boeing contract for an air force tanker, and I believe a navy ship that had huge cost over-runs. Then when asked about what progams he would cut (because of the bailout), McCain said that defence and veteran's medical programs would not be cut.
ReplyDeleteAnd they say the Democrats are arrogant. LOL
