From the AP:
Stevens is toast. The longest-serving Republican in the history of the Senate trailed Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich by 3,724 votes after Tuesday's count.
That's an insurmountable lead with only about 2,500 overseas ballots left to be counted.
Stevens, who turned 85 Tuesday, also revealed that he will not ask President George W. Bush to give him a pardon for his seven felony convictions.
Good riddance!
ReplyDeleteOnly ways he has a chance for a recount is to get those ballots, but at most he might only get 2/3 of them, leaving the margin at 2,600 after accounting what goes for Drunkle Ted and what goes for Begich. Only way he gets a recount now is if he pays for it out of his own pocket. Yeah, right.
ReplyDeleteGov. Palin, the gift that keeps on givin' to the Democratic Party...
