It would seem that Smith's gross inexperience was the deciding factor..and of course Harris' willingness to seize the gavel...so is this a victory of sorts for the anti-mayor faction of council..or just plain old common sense winning out???
I reserve my own doubts, but I will say (as I have before) that I was impressed with Darlene Harris' efforts with regard to the animal control issue. She researched and knew as much or more about State regulations than City Law Department personnel at the table during one televised meeting.
Ironically, Pat Dowd got his wish for diversity, even as he voted against it.

ReplyDeleteWhile not a progressive, Darlene is honest, has more experience, and doesn't have a foot wedged in either camp.
ReplyDeletesounds like common sense...a good way to start the new year....

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this is an OK thing! (More in the next section, on who's in what posts, because I read that first).
ReplyDeleteHow soon we forget the mess Mrs Harris made when president of the School Board.
