  1. My sentiments exactly.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

  2. I have some problems with Nancy Pelosi, I worry that she is maybe too liberal to be an effective national leader. But I don't disagree with her convictions. I'm also not overjoyed that Obama tried to reach out to Republicans, although I admire the attempt to actually try to be bipartisan, even though the Republicans essentially spit in his face, metaphorically. Plus, I think Obama went too far in being nice to Wall Street.

But Harry Reid, he has needed to grow a pair since 2006, and needs a spine more than ever. He needs to tighten up the rules on filibusters so that you do need to actually stand up and talk continuously for however long you want to filibuster, Mr Smith goes to Washington style. If that means some Democrats would be inconvenienced down the road, I can live with that.

As it stands now, it is possible that all new legislation except for appropriations will be stopped. I genuinely now believe that the Republicans have decided they need to destroy the country, to punish it for electing a black man, and to so whip up the tea party types as to have a Palin/Beck ticket in 2012.

  3. What more is there to say?

It's my party! The party of f***ups!

What Obama and his enablers didn't realize was that, while they aped the GOP strategy to win the election, they had better to ready to ape their approach to GOVERN as well!
