"Mayoral spokeswoman Joanna Doven said she did not know Mr. Ravenstahl's whereabouts today but he is in Pittsburgh." (from the PG article).
If only there were some device that we could purchase, powered by a battery, that would enable people to contact us if we weren't in our office or home. We could clip it to our belts or carry it in a pocket or purse (if we were female or "European").
well, I dont think he is telling the truth about his whereabouts, but I also think the medis and council are full of it for making a stink about it. The dude is separated, two small children. You ever go through that shit? Could have needed time with his wife, kids, family issues, lawyer meetings, court, hemorroid surgery. who the F cares, he's human also, give the guy a break already. he is allowed to have a life outside his desk and office ! where was obama today ? who cares ? where were each of the council member ? who cares ?
where is rendell ? where was onorato today? where were each of the hundreds and hundreds of other city, county, state, federal govt employees ?
I think the mayor should be afforded a little privacy. I do not think the media nor public have a right to know his whereabouts all the time. he is in office to do a job. as long as that job gets done by himself, his staff, his directors, his government then he is doing his job. doesnt matter where he is. let the guy have a family, ski, go to a concert. myors do not take a vow to forego any life, and privacy.
He has one small child and he had a wife and he admitted that his political career was more important to him than either of them.
Rendell and Onorato were at Murtha's funeral. But the point is that the Mayor was needed to sign a very important, very time critical document and no one knew where he was.
Also, we are his boss. Do you get to tell your boss that they're ridiculous for wanting to know where you are during work hours...especially when there's something critical due?
If Luke were at all interested in avoiding even appearing to be doing something unethical, he would be releasing a public schedule every day. To not do that is to arouse suspicion even if he's not doing anything wrong.
Mayor just turned 30, he's out searching for the fountain of youth...
ReplyDeleteIf he actually is in NOLA, he would qualify as the most politically tone deaf pol EVER.

Yes... imagine the possibilities of portable devices that would allow us to communicate from remote locations... like, you know, ski resort condos!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Chet Ravenstahl when we need him most?
ReplyDelete"He's 30. He's Democrat. And, he's yours!"
ReplyDelete[Apologies to Ringo Starr.. "You're 16. You're beautiful. And, you're mine!"]
He's also a DLCer Blue Dog POS DINO. He might as well be one of you. Oh, that's right, he was elected as both a Democrat AND a Republican!

For the record:
ReplyDeleteHe has one small child and he had a wife and he admitted that his political career was more important to him than either of them.

"where was obama today?"
ReplyDeletePresident Obama has a public schedule that gets released to the press every day. He is also voluntarily releasing visitor records of people who visit the White House to meet with him or Vice President Biden.
