Via Think Progress: QUESTION: Making them watch…does that go too far in your mind?
CORBETT: I’m not making anybody watch, OK. Because you just have to close your eyes. As long as it’s on the exterior and not the interior.
Hmmm, "just close your eyes." Kind of like the approach he took to the child rape investigation of Jerry Sandusky while he was state Attorney General.
Isn't wonderful/illuminating how scared of a little ultrasound image feminist/pro-abortionists (but i repeat myself) are.

HTTT, the women getting abortions are not particularly feminist/pro-abortionists. I have never heard anyone say that abortions are a good thing or the best solution to an unwanted pregnancy, only that the right to be able to have a safe, legal abortion in a medical facility is important. Personally, I am offended by the phrase "pro-abortionists" much like I was offended when Rush Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke a slut and a prostitute and demanded she create pornography for his benefit.
ReplyDeleteBut the women getting abortions are making a painful decision that may or may not be supported by family, friends and the man involved, and certainly is generally viewed negatively by society. The women themselves are well aware they are ending a potential life, and may well have feelings of sorrow or guilt for the rest of their lives. But that is to be contrasted with the consequences of becoming a single mother at whatever particular random moment of their lives (single mother since I see no Republicans demanding men step up an marry the women hey impregnate, much less writing legislation mandating that; if fact the rules governing child support are pretty weak and stacked against single mothers). Your snide comment shows just how little sympathy you and all Republicans have for victims of rape and/or incest and for poor women who are forced into having sex without condoms by threatening boyfriends. And to add further injury to injury, Republicans want to take away the only contraception women can easily control, oral contraceptives.
But then Republicans want to cancel Medicaid and Medicare as well as Social Security *and* raise taxes on the poor, all so the rich don't have to pay any tax.

How the effort to catch "deadbeat dads" ruins innocent men's lives
HTTP, as usual you cherry pick one point, and refuse to address the larger issue. You present one anecdote and snidely insinuate that your one example is a pandemic. You are perfectly willing to do research to once again slander poor single moms, another attack from the robotic right wing fury machine that can only repeat, demands everyone else agree or simply obey.
ReplyDelete"only 44.2% of fathers with no access to their children pay child support owed". You could volunteer at a VITA site and actually learn something, or you can sit in your parents basement in your PJ's and insult people.
