Michael Cohen of The Guardian:
Romney has figured out a loophole – one can lie over and over, and those lies quickly become part of the political narrative, practically immune to "fact-checking". Ironically, the more Romney lies, the harder it then becomes to correct the record. Even if an enterprising reporter can knock down two or three falsehoods, there are still so many more that slip past.(h/t to Jonathan Capehart for the phrase "Land of Mitt-Believe")

CM, I watched the Youtube video in your first link. I decided not to bother with the second based on the first.
ReplyDeleteOf the early "lies", a lot of them I would agree with. Obama said a lot things on the campaign trail that he may never have intended (I don't know). But the thing that struck me immediately is that the Youtube video has no links. No way to verify why any one statement is a lie. The Rachel Maddow blog, the Guardian piece, the Washington Post piece, all full of links.
If all you want to do is preach to your choir, your 65 lies thing is fine. If you actually want to convince anyone not already in your camp, well, good luck. You'll need it.
