HA! Pgh Police Union Endorses DeSantis

From the Post-Gazette:
The union representing City of Pittsburgh police today endorsed Republican mayoral challenger Mark DeSantis over incumbent Democrat Luke Ravenstahl. The Fraternal Order of Police was announcing the choice at an afternoon press conference.
The article also said, "The Ravenstahl campaign was not immediately available for comment."

I'll bet!

I hear tell of another group who would normally be expected to endorse Luke is now heavily considering endorsing DeSantis. Let's just say that they're folks who are also comfortable with weapons...

  1. Maria,

Is your hint suggesting that the NRA would actually endorse Luke?

  2. Interesting, but not surprising. There's a line of other unions that Luke has irritated. I wonder if any of them will come out and endorse DeSantis. I personally doubt it. But it was nice to see.

I agree with the FOP about the residency requirement. It makes it harder to recruit good cops, who might have already established a life in the suburbs...

  3. Bag-

there is no shortage of good cops waiting to get a call from the City. That is one area where the city is doing well.
