The View From Inside the GOP (The House Side)

USNews is reporting today on how House republicans are running for cover.

With an internal memo they call the "death list" the magazine describes how badly they (the GOP) thnk it's gonna be a few weeks from now:
Even though polls have shown that Americans don't like congressional Democrats any more, a new internal GOP tally of House races suggests a Democratic route that could keep the Republicans in the minority for decades. A document provided to Washington Whispers from a House GOP official shows that they could lose a net 34 seats. That means the Democrats would have a 270-165 advantage in the 111th Congress.
Ouch.  That's bad.

  1. Not buyin' it. When they lose 20 seats, they want it to look like a victory.

  2. John K: Rep. Murtha only has a 4% lead over novice, Army Lt Col. Russell. The poll has a +- of 4.9%. Not buying it either. Besides, since Lt Col Russell and this blog made a claim that we should support some other veteran who was running against a Republican. You think you would get the same in this race. Don't let hypocrisy hit you in the face.

  3. The only thing that worries me is that Gov. Palin and Rev. Dobson are just a-prayin' like the dickens for Baby Jesus to intercede on behalf of so many wonderful prayer warriors who are poised to deliver the righteousness of another Republican administration to an America that . . .

Oops, never mind. No worries, mate. But let's be sure to run through the finish line.
