Which Came First?
In the December 5th edition of the Wall Street Journal Peggy Noonan opined that 'At Least Bush Kept Us Safe' after 9/11.
Yesterday, we learned that the Bush Administration had put out a two-page talking points memo to "Cabinet members and other high-ranking officials" that "offers a guide for discussing Bush's eight-year tenure during their public speeches" which contains a primary (false) point that Bush '"kept the American people safe" after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks...'
Did Noonan get the memo, or did her column help dictate it, or is this really all the Right has left?
Speaking of Right and Left

John K: Did not need a memo to tell me Bush kept us safe. Radio talk show hosts, especially Honsberger, talks about it all the time. Liberals hate it though. To bring down Bush they would have preferred we had been attacked on US soil.
Oh wait, we were attacked on US soil, John K. In September, 2001. After George Bush was warned in August, 2001. But somehow Jamie Gorelick prevented Bush from acting on the warning.
John K: Yep, according to the FBI if it wasn't for the Gorelick memo action could have been taken. Since 9-11, Bush has thrown the Gorelick memo overboard and kept us safe. And now Obama isn't closing Gitmo. LMAO
Yeah, the Gorelick Memo caused the August 6 Presdential Daily Briefing "Bin Laden Detirmined to Attack on US Soil" to be ignored by President Bush. I'm sure he said to himself, "I'd like to warn the public, but I can't because then prosecutions will be compromised". I am sure he felt he couldn't ask the CIA or FBI for more detail, because of the Gorelick memo. I sure he felt constrained from issuing any warnings or even listening to Richard Clarke because of the Gorelick Memo. Do you even know what the Gorelick memo says, John K? Do you understand the concept of safe? For that matter, did you read the last post, about the Pentagon knowing about the possibility of IED's and doing nothing about it?
