Pittsburgh City Tax Filing Deadline Delay Proposal Made by Peduto & Shields

So it's April 16th and you hopefully already filed all your taxes, but if you tried to file online for Pittsburgh city taxes you probably met with a glitch.

According to Pittsburgh's own Glimmer Twins:

Due to recent technical problems, the PGH 40 online filing system on the Department of Finance’s website has been down regularly for at least the last 12 days. Numerous residents have reached out to City Council for help during this time.

“The City instructed residents that online filing of the PGH 40 tax return would be an option this year, but challenges with technology have not made this possible,” Peduto said. “It is only fair that we give residents an extension on this filing.”

Councilmen Peduto and Shields will introduce legislation at City Council’s Tuesday meeting to officially extend the deadline for this year.
Procrastinators (and those without access to paper & pen) rejoice!
