From the scientists over at NOAA:
The April 2021 global surface temperature was 0.79°C (1.42°F) above the 20th century average of 13.7°C (56.7°F). This was the smallest value for April since 2013 and was the ninth warmest April in the 142-year record. April 2021 marked the 45th consecutive April and the 436th consecutive month with temperatures, at least nominally, above the 20th-century average. December 1984 was the last time a monthly temperature was below average.
December '84? How long ago was that?
LeBron James, in full LeBron Raymone James, byname King James, (born December 30, 1984, Akron, Ohio, U.S.), American professional basketball player who is widely considered one of the greatest all-around players of all time and who won National Basketball Association (NBA) championships with the Miami Heat (2012 and 2013), the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016), and the Los Angeles Lakers (2020). Meanwhile, we're still digging out from under the shitshow that was the Trump Administration. Take a look at this from Forbes:
For the first time since 2016, the EPA has released its Climate Change Indicators report, which sheds light on how climate change is affecting the U.S. based on data from dozens of sources, like government agencies, the academic world and nonprofit groups.
And:
It was due to be published years earlier, but was delayed by the Trump administration, which did not release any of the reports for all four years of the former president’s term.
Some key findings in the report:
Worldwide, 2016 was the warmest year on record, 2020 was the second-warmest, and 2011–2020 was the warmest decade on record since thermometer-based observations began. Global average surface temperature has risen at an average rate of 0.17°F per decade since 1901 (see Figure 2), similar to the rate of warming within the contiguous 48 states. Since the late 1970s, however, the United States has warmed faster than the global rate.
Hey, guess what? a few years ago our very own treason-adjacent State Senator Mastriano took it upon himself to spread this climate misinformation:
Of course, none of that is actually true.
This is the Pennsylvania GOP.
