Democracy Has Prevailed.

Meanwhile, Outside

Yes, the pandemic is still killing people across the country - thanks, in no small part, to the very many science deniers across the land.

Locally, thanks go to (among others) Wendy and Brock. The more people believe you, the more people will get sick.

You guys are a doing great job.

Setting aside all that the unnecessary death, there's still this from the scientists at NOAA:

The August 2021 global surface temperature was 0.90°C (1.62°F) above the 20th century average of 15.6°C (60.1°F). This was the sixth warmest August on record. Nine of the 10 warmest Augusts have occurred since 2009. August of 1998 still ranks among the 10 warmest on record. August 2021 was also the 45th consecutive August and the 440th consecutive month with temperatures, at least nominally, above the 20th century average.

And of course, there's still art:

Not so coincidentally, there's this from the Nobel Prize committee over in Stockholm:

One complex system of vital importance to humankind is Earth’s climate. Syukuro Manabe demonstrated how increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere lead to increased temperatures at the surface of the Earth. In the 1960s, he led the development of physical models of the Earth’s climate and was the first person to explore the interaction between radiation balance and the vertical transport of air masses. His work laid the foundation for the development of current climate models.

About ten years later, Klaus Hasselmann created a model that links together weather and climate, thus answering the question of why climate models can be reliable despite weather being changeable and chaotic. He also developed methods for identifying specific signals, fingerprints, that both natural phenomena and human activities imprint in the climate. His methods have been used to prove that the increased temperature in the atmosphere is due to human emissions of carbon dioxide. [Bolding in original.]

But as everyone knows this was invented by the Chinese to undermine American competitiveness

How long before our friends in the science denying community start complaining about how the Nobel Prize is tainted by Swedish socialism? How it's proof that it's firmly embedded in the worldwide adrenochrome trafficking market?

How long? Anyone got an egg timer?
