Allegheny County Council is considering an ordinance that would prohibit discrimination in Employment, Housing and Public Accommodations based on characteristics including sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.More at Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents here.
The Council has, so far, been very interested in moving this non-discrimination ordinance forward. Twelve (out of 15) Council members have signed on as co-sponsors! One of Council’s next steps is to approve funding for the ordinance. Specifically, the County will have to hire folks to educate the public, to investigate complaints, and to prosecute violations of the ordinance. The Council’s Government Committee will be discussing the ordinance this Tuesday.
Below is a list of the co-sponsors for the legislation. Please contact your County Councilperson to thank him or her for supporting this ordinance. Encourage your Councilperson to continue moving the legislation forward.

Thanks to David, I am now against this law since it will be used to turn any law granting civil unions into one that grants Gay marriage. As what happened in California.
ReplyDeleteJohn K: Is there a big problem with this in Allegheny County? Is this such a problem that we need an law to prevent it? Because liberal Democrats are running this County. Liberal Democrats are the ones voting in large % in this County. So is this a problem? Hussein Obama people own all the property in this County. Hmmmm?
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, Heir, but wtf are you talking about?
ReplyDeleteDid you bother to read the post?
And what doesn't it matter to you who marries whom? When you get right down to it, Heir, wtf does it matter to you? What impact does it really have on your life, because if you're going to offer up some solipsistic nonsense in defense of traditional marriage and this absurd notion that homosexuals marrying will ruin it, I'd just like to point out that it was heterosexuals who produced a 50% divorce rate in this country.
And, John, this is about preventing discrimination. This is about protecting people so that they might enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I'm sorry that you feel people should be allowed to deny that to others.
Perhaps one day you'll both grow up and join the human species.
John K: So Jaywillie just who is doing that discrimination around here? Jaywillie you need to start taking ownership of your faults. But you can always blame them on Bush or Santorum. LOL LOL LMAO
ReplyDeleteMy guess is people like you and Heir; people that think like you are causing this kind of discrimination all over the country.
ReplyDeleteYou can try to attack me to deflect from your inherent bigotry and hatred, John K., but you can't change the fact that you're nothing more than a smallminded bigot.
