Didn't Harry Potter say something about admiring Severus Snape greatly? (Heck, anything Alan Rickman does, as opposed to only one or two things Kevin Costner does)
But I wouldn't know, I only watch Armando Iannucci, Nicholas Meyer and Aaron Sorkin (actually Newsroom left a bad taste in my mouth).
I haven't read any of the books and have only seen about half of the movies, but I did see the last one, so if you really don't know, while Snape seemed to be the evil one, he actually saved the day.
I agree with you on Newsroom. Fortunately, I read a bad review or two before watching so I had already lowered my expectations.
Yeah, I specifically had in mind this Harry Potter scene (from the Severus Snape wikipedia page) - "In the epilogue to Deathly Hallows, set nineteen years after Harry defeats Voldemort, Harry has named his second-born son Albus Severus, after Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape. As Albus is about to enter his first year at Hogwarts, he expresses concern that he will be sorted into Slytherin. Harry tells his son, "you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them [Snape] was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew.""
I wouldn't really say that Roberts was some sort of long term liberal double agent, just waiting to fool everyone as the crucial moment. But I thought Robert Reich's thoughts before the decision came out turned out to be somewhat prescient, at least as far as Roberts is concerned.

Also, Rickman rules. LOL
