CALL THE WHITE HOUSE

According to this survey, only 21% of the American people who are familiar with the case agree with Bush's decision to commute the sentence of convicted perjurer and obstructor-of-justice Scooter Libby.

Senator Biden issued this statement yesterday:
Last week Vice President Cheney asserted that he was beyond the reach of the law. Today, President Bush demonstrated the lengths he would go to, ensuring that even aides to Dick Cheney are beyond the judgment of the law. It is time for the American people to be heard — I call for all Americans to flood the White House with phone calls tomorrow expressing their outrage over this blatant disregard for the rule of law.
I plan to.

Here's the contact page from whitehouse.gov.

The phone number over there is: 202-456-1111

If you wanna fax something over the number is: 202-456-2461

  2. Yeah. That'll make him change his mind.

Look, Dayvoe, this is only one more example of the kind of corruption, deceit, and sociopathy that has been in evidence since this administration was installed by the Supreme Court six and a half years ago.

If the White House gets a million phone calls, it will do nothing but please them. The American public is no longer of any use to the professional criminals at the top of the Executive Branch, and this is another way for them to express their contempt for us. A flood of phone calls will be a demonstration of how effective their latest outrage was in pissing us off.

Bush's approval ratings are already pretty close to the bottom. He is reportedly at peace with his villainy. What do this degenerate and his masters have to lose?

  3. Schmuck;

Of course you're right. But imagine Tony Snow's spin if NO ONE calls to complain.

  4. David -

Still wouldn't make any difference. Even if 300 million souls overload their switchboard, it'll still be spun as "We got calls on both sides of the issue..."

  5. Do you suppose, Dayvoe, that the political wizards at 1600 have not foreseen this? Tony has his spin all planned regardless of public reaction.

Few calls? "See, the American public agrees with the President's wise use of his Constitutional power of commutation."

Many calls? "Of course the liberal media has stirred up a hornets nest among their radical left-wing partisans. Besides, we have evidence that a very small number of Democrat operatives are calling the White House repeatedly."

Sure, call them and validate their contempt, if it makes you feel better. You can take pride in subjecting yourself to abuse for no effect, just as our sick friend the Troll does.

Pardon my sarcasm. As you know, I respect your opinion most of the time. At times like these, however, I perceive you as being quite naive.

  7. I like how Joe Biden tied the Scooter commutation directly into Cheney's absurd arrogance. I like Joe Biden. I've been putting off starting up a "Pittsburghers for Joe Biden" blog, if anyone would like to co-author with myself and one or two others please let me know.

  8. Wrong again on the 21% of people favor the commutation of the Libby sentence. Trib poll has the numbers at 56% favoring the President's decision.
And based on how the left polls, this is as accurate as anything they have.
