map to the promised land

So I watched The Ten Commandments tonight (yeah, I'm a fan of Sword and Sandal films, especially of the biblical variety -- give me Barabbas or The Robe -- the cheesier the better, of course hearing Edward G. Robinson bray "Where's your Moses now?" like a Lower East Side gangster is pretty damn cheesy) but I set a reminder to watch SNL because the Yeah Yeah Yeahs we're going to be on and I thought it'd be great if they performed Maps but I dozed off yet woke just in time to see them perform it.

I think if Nefretiri had been born a few thousand years later, she would have been listening to Maps when she was pining for Moses.

Are you pining for Moses, Maria?

Nefertiri has one of the most spectacular tombs in Egypt. Now I know why.

I passed on "The Ten Commandments" and watched "Ben Hur" instead. It has considerably less cheese and that chariot race which still ranks as one of the greatest scenes ever filmed, IMO.

Is it me, or is it extremely sexy? Or am I going to Hell for thinking that?
