Oops. I blogged too soon.

I wrote here a few minutes ago that I couldn't imagine a better example of looniness than Rick Santorum's charge that George ("We don't torture - nudge nudge wink wink.") Bush is "soft on terrorists."

I spoke waaaay too soon. I found this a few minutes later:
U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum accused state Treasurer Bob Casey of "aiding and abetting terrorism and genocide," saying Sunday that state pension funds are invested with companies linked to terrorist-sponsoring states.
Aiding and abetting terrorism? Rick goes on:
"I'm the one trying to fight this war politically and economically so we don't have to fight it militarily, and he is asleep at the switch because he's not doing his job," Santorum said.
Wait, is he talking about Casey or Bush? According to Ricky, they're both soft on terrorists.

Of course, Ricky didn't provide any evidence - referring instead to a report from a neoconservative think tank. He says:
"Bob Casey has invested Pennsylvania pension funds in companies with ties to terrorist-sponsoring states and states that engage in genocide," Santorum said. "Bob Casey is aiding and abetting terrorism and genocide."
Tell me again why we should trust Rick and the neoconservatives?

At this rate how long before Rick calls Bob Casey "a meek little nancy-boy running on his daddy's name."

No wait - that's McIntire's joke.

John McIntire's funny. 's a loon.

Sigh. I'm not quite getting it.... However, may I now respond (briefly) to the "God's will" questions from the other post?

No, we cannot say that if it is God's will for Santorum to be in the Senate, that it necessarily means that it is NOT God's will for Casey to be there. We can't know the mind of God, in that sense.

But what we CAN know is that it is ENTIRELY possible for a person to have an experience of "knowing." In such an experience, subjective though it may be, there can still lie some truth. Even if it is not the FULLNESS of truth, it can still lead the person TOWARD that truth, toward that "calling" he may hear in his heart, that guides and directs his actions.

With Santorum and his family being people of prayer, it makes perfect sense that they would have these kinds of spiritual experiences.

It probably has to do with his falling behind 16 points.

I prayed on it and God told me that He never told Karen that it was His Will that Rick be in the Senate and He really wished that she would stop telling people that. He also told me that the Santorums have dust bunnies under their sofa.

A fellah reaches that far up his you-know-where and he runs a real risk o' gettin' his hand stuck. And we know how the Senator feels about that sorta thing.

I prayed about all of this and then God spoke and told me that the real man of faith is Bob Casey.
God wanted me to remind everyone that 'by their fruits you will know them'. He never told Rick Santorum to help corporations screw American citizens - God says that advice came from Rick's new pal Satan.
