There's absolutely no truth to the rumor...

Despite the massive Ravenstahlizaton of our fair city, we understand that there's absolutely no truth to the rumor that this:

was the original Luke-approved version of Pittsburgh's New Year's Eve countdown ball.

We have no idea how these rumors get started.

Nice to see a picture on this Web site. Nice to have Maria back.

Just what this town needs, a ball dropping dahntahn on New Year's Eve!

If that doesn't improve the 'Burgh's bond rating, I don't know what will!

You're invited to vote as many times as you'd like on KQV's (www.kqv.com), question of the day:

"Based on his 3 months as interim mayor, should Luke Ravenstahl be elected to serve out the balance of Mayor O'Connor's term?"

Actually, I understand that the ball will rise, symbolizing the 'Burgh's uplifting future.

Well then, that makes all the difference, doesn't it?

The Mayor is close to--if he hasn't already crossed it--the line with the billboards and other stuff that are basically tax-payer funded campaign signs.

Mike,

I believe the Mayor already has crossed the line. Supposedly Lamar donated the billboards. Don't know if they also donated the printing of the billboards... The end result is that the city's used up Lamar's donation/goodwill to basically produce a Luke campaign billboard.

Also the city's mailing postcards to all residents, purportedly on behalf of the 311 line, which no doubt, will include the tag line "Ravenstahl Response Line". I haven't rec'd one yet, but wonder if they'll also include a photo of Luke. I wonder who's paying for this round of Luke campaign literature?

If a private entity is paying for them, on behalf of the city, again we've squandered goodwill. I'd prefer they use the money to print & mail a 2007 Trash Collection schedule. I'm sure everyone has their own ideas on what they'd like to see the city mail out. I'm also sure few would like tax payer paid Ravenstahl propaganda to be among the mail rec'd from the city.

The wording on the front door of the mayor's office should be changed to read "Luke Ravenstahl Campaign Headquarters".
