Had a nice chat with Congressman-elect Chris Murphy (D-5th) of Connecticut. I grew up in Connecticut so it's always nice to reconnect with The Nutmeg state.
I hadn't followed much of the political news from CT, except for the Lieberman race, so I don't know much of the details of his election. We chatted about the political situation up there.
It's an odd place, politically. One of the bluest of the bluest states, it has a Republican governor (elevated to the post upon the resignation and subsequent imprisonment of the previous Republican governor). She's pro-choice, pro-stem cell research Republican. The Dems won two House seats from the GOP as well as increased the number of Democrats in the State House.
And then there's the whole Lieberman race. No need to explain any further the oddity of Connecticut politics.
It's nice to reconnect...
