I just vomited a little in my mouth

Right-wing pundit Glenn Beck not only calls defeated ex Senator (and ex PA resident) Lil Ricky Santorum the "rising star" in the conservative movement but also calls him "a Winston Churchill."

doesn't surprise me. all you have to do is listen to 1 show of beck's to see that he has the same nastly little mindset.

So do you hate Rick Santorum for pointing out the flaws in pro-choice Sen. Boxer logic?
Santorum: But, again, what you are suggesting is if the baby’s toe is inside the mother, you can, in fact, kill that baby.

Boxer: Absolutely not.

Santorum: OK. So if the baby’s toe is in, you can’t kill the baby. How about if the baby’s foot is in?

Boxer: You are the one who is making these statements.

Santorum: We are trying to draw a line here.

Boxer: I am not answering these questions! I am not answering these questions.

-Senator Rick Santorum challenging Senator Barbara Boxer to explain how she can support partial-birth abortion, October 20, 1999

that was a foolish line of questioning for a horrible situation. that wasn't logic, that was cheap showmanship and childishness.

it's a very important topic and deserved better than the "sound bite" questions that he threw to make sure he got face time on the news programs.

but that would be asking him to be adult about something.

a waste of time.

Sherry, you're a liar. You must be if you contradict Mein Heir.

Nice try to change the subject, Mein Heir, but you lose. Let us know if you ever have anything pertinent to say. Like, you know, when pigs fly.

Santorum chose not to represent most Pennsylvanians, but rather to advocate (aggressively) right-wing religious dogma with relatively few adherents. He would spit the word "mainstream" as if it were Satan's name, yet probably still can't figure out how or why he wore out his welcome and was shown the door. He will profit handsomely from flattering the wealthy and the Christian right (and from trading on his connections and waning influence), but I suspect his days of prominence in political life are behind him. He will opine from a hard-right organization or two (maybe replace Donohue at the Catholic League someday?) to keep himself in the public eye, and use that prominence on behalf of just about any commercial interest that wants to hire him.

But he is on the wrong side of many trajectories in the public life of our nation, so his days of influencing much beyond which defense contractor gets the canned pudding concession are behind him.

Thank goodness.

John K. says: He is. The fact that you do not understand this point shows how biased you are. You have no understanding why Sen. Santorium lost in Pa.

John K also says: Beck has a nasty mindset? As compared to who, the left wingers on this blog with their bigoted statements or Olbermouth. LOL LOL That includes you Sherry.

From a plushly padded cell somewhere in Outer Wingnuttia:

You have no understanding why Sen. Santorium lost in Pa

Li'l Ricky lost because:

1. His extreme right-wing views were out of the mainstream

2. He represented K Street rather than the people of Pennsylvania.

3. He was such a bad Senator that an animated mannequin like Bob Casey Jr. was able to clean his clock.

and

4. Virginia didn't need 3 Senators.

BTW, "Santorium"--love that typo!

You forgot to mention that Casey is also a misogynistic and authoritarian animated mannikin, Dave.

John K. says: Nope, you left wing kooks have no understanding of PA politics. Which is not that unusual for the left.

If the "left wing kooks have no understanding of PA politics" why did the Dems win over not only Sen. Man-On-Dog, but over his lil sis, Missy?

Seems like it was the right who had no understanding of PA politics or PA period.

Here is what I understand about Pennsylvania politics:

Santorum is done.

Bad news for creationists, proprietors of the Silver Ring Thing, other right-wing/religious kooks and certain K Streeters.

Great news for everyone else.

Get used to the wilderness, John K. Maybe you and the former senator could huddle together for warmth.

Is it me, or is John K. no fun any more? His comments have become more incoherent, but otherwise, his LOL at the death of American soldiers and "lefties lose" thing has grown tiresome. I fear he has jumped the shark.

Lil' Ricky will, sadly, live high on the hog of wingnuttia for some time. Well after, if there is one, he will rot in hell.

And, finally, I love when wingers like Heir bring up abortion and how "pro-life" they are. Don't care about the innocents getting butchered and bombed in Iraq, don't care about the innocents getting hacked to death in Kenya, don't care about the innocents here in the good ol' US of A who live within breathing distance of factory farms or chemical plants emitting noxious fumes into the air. It would be funny if it weren't so terribly sad.

John K. says: I'll say it again. The fact that Beck along with the rest of conservative America views Sen. Santorum as a person with a world view and you left wing kooks only think within the region is why you lefties have no idea of PA politics. Santorum lost because of PA politics. His world view stands on its own merit.

I must agree with you about JK, Fill. This last one of his is an excellent example. He seems to be saying that Santorum lost on purpose.

Even worse, there's not a single LMAO. It's a shame to see that kind of talent fading.

I think McCain/Santorum is a distinct possibility--maybe even a probability. Now there's some vomit for you.
