Very Scary Quinnipiac Poll!

If you're like me, when you hear anything about a new poll you naturally assume presidential, right?

Well, so did I when the folks from Quinnipiac called yesterday evening to ask me some questions. As it turns out, however, this poll was all about good old PA. There were lots of questions about the Legislature, Rendell, Casey and Specter (I had to assist the caller with the pronunciation of "DeWeese").

The scary part came right upfront. After screening me in, the first real question asked how familiar I was with this guy:

UGH! (Tweety captured mid-harass)

Then they asked how likely I would be to vote for Chris Matthews as the Democrat vs. Senator Arlen Specter the Republican in 2010, when they said Matthews would be the likely candidate.

Talk about frightening!

Yes, by all mean let's have another Center Right On Social Issues Dem in PA. And, this one a huge pig to boot!

On the other hand, I find Specter horribly frustrating. He often talks a good game when it comes to our rights under the Constitution and the Rule of Law. He acts like he'll stand tall and be fair and independent, but inevitably he backs down and votes the good ol' Republican line. He's full of hot air.

So I guess Specter vs. Tweety would make it the Chickenshit Hot Air Balloon vs. the Sexist Gasbag race.

Lord help us all!

John K: Got to tell you, Matthews vs Specter. I am voting Matthews. We need to get that RINO Specter out of there. Casey has done no damage to the right and Matthews would be the same.
Now I will prefer Twomey over anyone. But Matthews is way better than Specter.

This will make for a strange election. The dem will be more conservative on social issues in this one.

I think Matthews would have very good chance. PA tends to be socially conservative and fiscally liberal. (some call this populist) It's a great place for a Casey-type candidate to thrive.

Imagine, people actually might elect someone who is like them!

John K: However left wingers, I would bear in mind that Olbermouth has credited Matthews with giving him all the political knowledge to survive at MSNBC. Even though on Aug 16th MSNBC and Olbermouth has moved to channel 183 from 31 on cancast. LOL LOL LOL LMAO.
But I would rather have a Matthews than a Specter anyday.

John K: Have we entered the bizaro world. I am routing for Matthews over Specter and you guys are not.
Quick someone slap me silly or at least kick my modus tollens or whatever to see if I am sane.

Well, I can't see the debates being very fair as no one else besides Matthews - not Specter, not the moderators - would be able to get a word in endgewise.

Huh; wonder if Fast Eddie'd want the job.
