I had Primanti Bros. and was disappointed. The fries were undercooked and the steak was nothing to remember.
Apparently, according to Pittsburghers, to enjoy Primanti's you have to be drunk.
This concept is ridiculous.

I've eaten in D.C. many many times, Southeastern PA & Philadelphia (Pat's, street vendors, diners, etc.), Rio de Janiero, France, and Canada (even in the middle of nowhere the fries with gravy are far superior to Primanti's).

The O's hot dogs are OK, and Pittsburgh pizza's are just plain crap.
Greasy pizza does not equal good pizza. Phila., Marzella's in Collegeville, Zern's in Gilbertsville, even in a tiny little hotel in Shoemakersville all have better pizzas than all the pizzas I've had in Pittsburgh. Point is, all these pizza's in little to medium towns still have better pizza's.

That said, Thai Me Up & Thai Place are both good (both in da Burgh).

Pittsburghers never did have much of a developed palette.

As for Quaker Steak & Lube, I've never been there, but I hope the hot wings have some flavor. Wings with nothing but heat are just for fun.

PS. Great blog (most of the time). Keep up the good work! :)

I hope he went to the original 'Lube up in Sharon! Anyway, if he though EATING them was hot, wait until tomorrow morning!

As for Primanti's, the best are in the strip...the fare at the satellite locations and the ballparks isn't great.

Hate the O, always have. I don't appreciate dirt in my food. and the O is just plain filthy.
