What were the numbers in the 1980 recession? Because I remember unemployment being higher and inflation being high (stagflation). Of course, this recession is different and potentially worse because of the credit crisis. So far Harry Reid has blinked repeatedly, but who do the Republicans think would be blamed if Reid restored cut spending to the stimulus in conference and then the Republicans voted against it? Likely not Harry, and absolutely not Harry alone.
