True Story

From Talking Points Memo, another conservative crazie. Pat Robertson:

Here's what he said (via mediamatters.org):
And, you know, Kristi, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, "We will serve you if you will get us free from the French." True story. And so, the devil said, "OK, it's a deal."
True Story.

Teh Crazie. Again.

THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY. SO. ANGRY. When I heard the full quote, that he was claiming the revolution was part of a pact with the Devil I swear my head turned a full-possessed-360-turn. W.T.H.? The story of Haiti's revolution is one of the most inspiring stories in the history of the Western Hemisphere. Its the only country in the west to have a successful slave revolt. I think Pat Robertson is the one to make a pact with the devil. I think he promised to take all things holy and call them evil while promoting evil (like hate and bigotry) as holy. He is the one serving the Devil and in exchange he gets fame and fortune. THAT is a much more believable scenario than the one he spins.
