Democracy Has Prevailed.

Endorsements

There are a lot of progressive people running tomorrow in the PA Democratic primary. Here are some of the best:

STATEWIDE:
Attorney General
Patrick Murphy
Murphy played a leadership role in the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" when he was in Congress. He's also been extremely up front about his pro choice views and against the Republican War on Women.

Auditor General
Eugene DePasquale
Great on Marcellus Shale and all the other issues you care about! A candidate with strong progressive tendencies, but also "something more essential: a deep-seated commitment towards doing right by all citizens of PA, in a way that transcends ideology."

LOCAL:
District 22
Erin Molchany
She's so good, she's endorsed nationally! I'll be hoofing it out to Brookline to phone bank for her this afternoon.

District 23
Dan Frankel
An always reliable progressive!

District 24
Edward Gainey
I agree with the P-G -- it's time for a change!

District 56
Marybeth Kuznik
Not exactly from around here, but she's great! She's also the founder of VotePA

We really need an endorsement for our write-in candidate, Patrick Leyland (D) in the 54th District or else our State Rep Eli Evankovich (R) will run unopposed in November. Patrick is 35 and has served as a school board director at Kiski area schools for 12 years. He is a strong proponent of education and jobs to keep young people here, in Western Pa.

Also, via Janis Williams on Facebook:

If you leave in the 37th Senate District of PA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Senate,_District_37), please write in Greg Parks for the Democratic slot. He needs 500 write-in votes to challenge the R in November - thanks!

Reading the DePasquale 'About Me' makes me LMAO. Touting your LITTLE LEAGUE experience? Touting your HIGH SCHOOL experience? Grow up and come play with the adults. And....Ahhh, isn't that just the sweeeeeeeeetest thing to say about meeting 'the love of your life'? Puke.

There's more soapiness in that bio that PG sells in a year... not to say absolutely NOTHING about his qualifications (ZERO) as an auditor.

But, then again the voters of Allegheny County elected a political hack with the legacy political name, ZERO accounting expereince and/or qualifications and (correct?) chromosomes to be County Controller.

Voters are stupid.

Just noting that Marybeth Kuznik is not only a qualified, knowledgeable, experienced candidate with numerous endorsements who lost in the primary to an inexperienced no one with no political history and with only an endorsement from a club to which he belongs, but who was run, backed, and probably financed by the Blue Dog Males as another Blue Dog Male (therefore his best qualification, I guess, is his peepee). Ms. Kuznik is also "from around here": Her home and her district are just beyond Murrysville, Pa., which is just beyond Monroeville. Close enough to commute every day to Pitt!
