Vanity Fair has posted photos of President Obama with his feet up on his Oval Office desk. But it's not just any desk. This desk was a gift from Britain's Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880. Known as the Resolute desk, it was built from the timbers of an Arctic exploration ship of the same name. Nothing like disrespecting history.The braintrust has yet again taken offense at something Obama has done (or not done, or is planning to do even though there's no evidence that he is). They're offended by this:

With all of the real stuff they could have written about, this is what they do write about - outrage (OUTRAGE!) that President Obama would disrespect history by putting his feet on the Resolute Desk.

Perhaps some commentary on this site regarding Obama's failure to close Gitmo and his Justice Department's pursuit of the Plan-B availability case would be in order?
I don't know about you, but Obama is one of the worst Presidents in history if you measure the distance between expectations and delivery. Sure, he's not an incompetent boob like Dubya, but he's in some ways worse. A man who slipped into the office on the expectations of change and has done nothing but perpetuate right-wing policies.

I don't think I'd go so far as to call him the Worst Democratic President Ever, but I AM profoundly disappointed that he let the Bush Administration off the hook regarding torture.
I put my feet up on my city council desk all the time. If they don’t want to mess up "sacred desks” (if there is such a thing) then go buy some regular old american made desks at Desk Outlet somewhere. Otherwise, quit your whinny stupid stuff already.
Cripes, say what you will about Obama there are plenty of worse Democratic presidents.
Perhaps Mr. Scarr is unfamiliar with American history.
