They are Liars.Just likeRachel Maddow (and this video) lies that Ohio budget includes requirement for transvaginal ultrasound.
Thanks for mansplaining that to us.
HTTT,Thanks for shedding light on the lies in this videos. They really had me with that 10 second monkey bar challenge thing. So just what are the specs on the new Ohio law then?
Here's the relevant portion from HttT's link:Division A of that section says that before performing an abortion, a provider must "determine whether there is a detectable fetal heartbeat of the unborn human individual the pregnant woman is carrying." The method for detecting a heartbeat is then spelled out in Division C, which says: The director of health may promulgate rules pursuant to section 111.15 of the Revised Code specifying the appropriate methods of performing an examination for the presence of a fetal heartbeat of an unborn individual based on standard medical practice. The rules shall require only that an examination shall be performed externally. And here's what PolitiFact and HttT is not explaining: The bill demands that you need to determine if there is a fetal heartbeat, BUT you CANNOT do that early in a pregnancy with an external examination. The only way to do that is with a vaginal probe. So WTF? If Maddow is wrong, then so is the bill. But then you'd have to know some actual SCIENCE. It's very hard to detect a fetal heartbeat externally prior to 10 weeks and most only hear it for the first time at 12 weeks. So tell me how this works without an internal probe?
