panties in a bunch

Just a reminder that when trying to gauge via the blogosphere what progressive and liberal women think about, oh, this or that and who exactly are defining the issues, it helps to have some idea of the demographics of some of the marquee blogs.

This, for example, caught my eye:

Granted it is a self-reporting poll and therefore not scientific, but the numbers are so overwhelming as to certainly have some significance:

76% of responders are male and a paltry 14% are female.

And speaking of DK, it also helps to be aware of the history there of pie fights and boycotts.

The PDB of August 6 2001

Posted as a not-so-gentle reminder of the heckova job our president has been doing from the beginning:

On August 6, 2001, President George W Bush was shown this PDB. It bore the title "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US."

In its review of the book "The One Percent Doctrine" the Washington Post wrote:
The book's opening anecdote tells of an unnamed CIA briefer who flew to Bush's Texas ranch during the scary summer of 2001, amid a flurry of reports of a pending al-Qaeda attack, to call the president's attention personally to the now-famous Aug. 6, 2001, memo titled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US." Bush reportedly heard the briefer out and replied: "All right. You've covered your ass, now."
So he knew about al-Qaeda. He knew that al-Qaeda was determined to attack. The CIA even flew to dubya's vacation ranch in Crawford, Texas to personally call his attention to the PDB.

And yet he did nothing about it.

A not-so-gentle reminder of the great and glorious leader.
