Bush's Iraq War a FAILURE

This time, it's not just me saying it. This time it's the father of modern Conservatism, William F Buckley.

Take a look.
Buckley finds himself parting ways with President Bush, whom he praises as a decisive leader but admonishes for having strayed from true conservative principles in his foreign policy.

In particular, Buckley views the three-and-a-half-year Iraq War as a failure.

"If you had a European prime minister who experienced what we've experienced it would be expected that he would retire or resign," Buckley says. [emphasis added]
Oh if only...

I have often disagreed with Buckley, not sporadically agreed with him, but I have pretty much always respected his opinion. I grew up watching his TV shows and, while he never made me a conservative, I was a fan of his. There was a time, a long time ago, that I thought George Will was going to be another intellectually-honest, true conservative voice, but he revealled himself just another hack.

i always respected him as well. sometimes i agreed, most often, not. this time, i do and i also feel that if he felt strongly enough to comment on this, he must really stand by it.
