Democracy Has Prevailed.

Well THIS Certainly Inspires Confidence

From CBS News:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday that President George W. Bush did not consult her before announcing his new strategy for the war in Iraq — a sign that, despite the cozy rhetoric, the relationship between Washington's two powerhouses has already had its share of friction.

In an interview, Pelosi also said she was puzzled by what she considered the president's minimalist explanation for his confidence in the new surge of 21,500 U.S. troops that he has presented as the crux of a new "way forward" for U.S. forces in Iraq.

"He's tried this two times — it's failed twice," the California Democrat said. "I asked him at the White House, 'Mr. President, why do you think this time it's going to work?' And he said, 'Because I told them it had to.' "

Asked if the president had elaborated, she added that he simply said, " 'I told them that they had to.' That was the end of it. That's the way it is."

That's it? "Because I told them it had to."??

So that explains all the previous failures in Iraq. Dubya hadn't yet told them that it all "had to" work.

Isn't it comforting to know that the Commander-in-Chief has such a pragmatic, realistic approach to running his war? It'll work this time simply because he says it has to.

Who elected him God?

In any event, I'm sure the families intimately connected to dubya's war all appreciate knowing that he's issued new instructions. If only (fill in the blank with any of the three thousand plus names on this list) had known.

If only.

Well, you can see his point. His is a faith-based administration and he believes:

Neighbors always turn down the stereo because we tell them to.

Kids always stay away from tobacco because we tell them to.

Dogs always stay off the couch because we tell them to.

Osama Bin Laden will give himself up because we tell him to.

God will bless America because we tell him to.

Let's not forget:

Teenagers won't have unprotected sex if we simply tell them not to.

Excuse me ....

Who elected Nancy Pelosi as God? Perhaps she herself should read up on the Constitution of the United States of America.

George W Bush is the COMMANDER IN CHIEF. He has the constitutional power to NOT consult with Pelosi on any strategy regarding the war in Iraq. Congress did their part by authorizing the war. Done deal. They can also de-fund the war if they wish.

And please, do not bring up the War Powers Resolution. The President consulted with Congress, and Congress authorized going into Iraq. It's the Democrats who, after the fact, took it upon themselves to say that going into Iraq was wrong, which now takes us to where we are now.

Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution says that the President is the Commander In Chief of the United States Army, Navy, and National Guard.

Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution states that Congress has the power to raise and support the armed forces as well as the sole authority to declare war. For your information, that was done and over with.

You may want to brush up on your knowledge of the Constitution of the United States.

Hey a troll! I miss you guys since you all choked to death in November. You're a real survivor, buddy.

By the way something, Pelosi reportedly responded, "Why didn't you tell them that the first time?"

Pelosi wasn't elected God, but she is a badass old broad.

Don't let this imposter fool you, SA. I am the real Democrats-Lie. I used to be a Wingnut, but I have seen the light and now am a True Believer Liberal. I hate god and everything.

You can tell it's not really me. I would never just change the subject the way he does.

If I claimed that Congress had declared war, I would be prepared to back it up.

And of course, I wouldn't just attack fellow bloggers. I would try to present an idea.

So please, pay no attention to that other Democrats-Lie guy. He's not even an authentic troll. If he was, he wouldn't use my name.

Of course Braden (a.k.a Democrats-Lie) gets it wrong again.

He seems to think that the Constition grants the President absolute authority over the armed forces.

Well here's some of the stuff he leaves out of Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution he implores us all to study. (Note they all start with: "Congress shall have power...")

Clause 11:

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

Clause 14:

To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

Clause 16:

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Certainly seems like Congress has some authority over the nation's armed forces.

The Constitution even says so.

Ok, Anonymous:

So I suppose the fact that Congress authorized the war in Iraq never happened in your eyes. That's basically what you are saying...well..denying is a better way of putting it.

By the way, if you and Nancy Pelosi feel so strongly about Bush not consulting with her over his war strategy, then you both have the ability to take it up with the Supreme Court.

Funny, how Bill Clinton never consulted Congress on his "strategies" in regards to Kosovo. I don't remember "hearing" you complain then.

Oh wait! I know. Bill Clinton was a Democrat. And when a Democrat is involved, it's *just* different. I keep forgetting.

As for the halfwit who claims to be me on here:

Do I bother you that much that you have to pose as myself here? Wow, I never knew. I think it's funny, though. It's funny to see liberals crack under pressure. Keep it up. I think it's awesome. :)

This really upsets me. Please! Anyone who might know who this imposter is who pretends that he is me, let me know so that I can take action.

I love Bill Clinton now. I realize that being a Democrat is *just* different.

Help me, anyone. Please.

Interesting how Democrats-Lie changes the subject when he's been spanked.

First he claimed Bush's Constitutional Authority as Commander in Chief trumped any authority of Congress.

Then when he was shown to be incorrect he changed the subject to Bill Clinton.

Deep deep thinking there.
