Mubarak to step down tonight...Update: Or not...

That's what I'm hearing on my teevee right now.

UPDATE: Via ABC News: "Hosni Mubarak Doesn't Resign, Cairo's Tahrir Square Erupts with Anger"
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said he has delegated many powers to his newly minted vice president Omar Suleiman, but enraged crowds gathered in Tahrir Square hoping to hear the embattled president say he was stepping down.

Let's all hope he not succeeded in office by the Four Horseman of the Islamic Apocalypse;sharia law, beheadings, stonings,and the burqa!

It won’t matter if Omar Suliman take over, practically he ll adopt the same system. I don’t think Egyptian will be satisfied with such transition. I suppose the main issue here is whether brother in Islam will take over. Honestly Egypt has been and should be the main US ally in the region, because it ll create a chaos in the region if it follow Iran.
I think the US government should move faster, and try for the first time to find an ally who is just a little bit concerned about the wellbeing of his people. If not I think extremist will take over, and other Iran will emerge.

[Update 8:03 p.m. in Cairo, 1:03 p.m. ET] The Egyptian information minister denies that President Hosni Mubarak is stepping down, state TV reported.

@pgh_Knight:
CIA chief said that mobark may quit tonight, his PM asked him to step down, state tv screening the meeting between PM and Mobark, and Mobark will make an address on tv in about an hour.
I suppose he already left the country and he ll hand it over to Omar Suliman.

Mubarak got his 80 billion;the generals have stepped in to protect their $$$$.Hopefully a gradual transition to a democratic society will prevail. And by gradual I mean years, small incremental changes that will not bring terror in any form to Egypt!
